Sassafras Leaves
Sassafras leaves (Sassafras albidum) has been used for file powder for gumbos/stews, seasoning for food (some use like a bay leaf), as a thickening agent, mild tea, and in potpourri/soap scents.
This can be used as a tea (steep 1-2 tsp. per hot cup of water) or for small batch wildcraftin’ of salves, oils, serum, tinctures, etc.
